Presentation Title: Perfection: The Enemy of Good

Security has become a fundamental part of our lives.  From crypto to firewalls to IPS to proxies, there's little that we use that doesn't have some element of security, and the debates over what constitutes good security have no end in sight with standards flying and criticism raining down after every breach, no matter how complicated.
With that in mind, we take a look at the flaws in our implementations, going deeper than the blocking policies, further down than firewall rules, and even past algorithm selection to examine the root cause of the scattered viewpoints: the demand for absolute perfection, and how it's leaving security fundamentally broken.
